4. Key Considerations for Selecting Fire Door Locks

Certification and Compliance (Top Priority!)

Products must be selected that have been compulsorily certified by national authoritative institutions (such as CCCF certification). The lock should be clearly marked with the certification label and indicate the fire resistance time (such as Grade A, Grade B, Grade C).

The fire resistance rating of the lock must match that of the fire door. Do not use ordinary locks to replace fireproof locks.

Material and Craftsmanship

The core components such as the lock body and lock tongue should be made of high-temperature resistant metal materials (such as stainless steel and alloy steel), and the small parts inside such as the internal springs also need special treatment to prevent softening and failure at high temperatures.

Cooperation with door closers

Fireproof locks must be used in conjunction with qualified fireproof door closers. The function of the door closer is to ensure that the fireproof door can close automatically and smoothly and press the sealing strip tightly. It is necessary to ensure that the force of the door closer is sufficient to overcome the resistance of the lock tongue.
