UL Certification (Underwriters Laboratories)
The locks must be certified to meet the UL 10C (fire door testing standard) and UL 294 (door hardware safety standard).
The electronic lock must also comply with UL 1034 (anti-theft standard) or UL 10B (fire resistance test).
ANSI/BHMA standard
The mechanical lock must comply with the ANSI/BHMA A156.xx series (for example, A156.13 is the standard for fireproof locks).
NFPA 80 (Standard of the American Fire Protection Association)
The lockset must meet the fire resistance time requirements (such as 20/45/60/90 minutes) and be compatible with the fireproof door grade.
Other requirements
Prohibit the use of automatic locking functions (such as "deadlock"), and ensure that emergency escape complies with NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code).
The escape device must comply with ANSI/BHMA A156.3 (the standard for escape hardware).
