Stile and Rail doors are made of separate pieces of wood. Stiles (vertical) and Rails (horizontal) hold individual panels. These panels can also be glass, called “Lites.” Stile and Rail doors are generally the most expensive type of door to produce.

Rail – A horizontal structural member of a stile and rail wood door. Fits between stiles.
